Doctor Asks FDA To Reconsider “Safe” Levels of Aluminum, Gets Censored and Suspended on Medium

Aluminum is an adjuvant used in vaccines licensed by the US Food and Drug Administration. James Lyons-Weiler, Ph.D., wanted to know how did the FDA determined what the safe levels are for aluminum in vaccines.

For most of my adult life, I never gave vaccine safety a second thought. Sure, I spaced my sons’ vaccines out, and none of the pediatricians in three states gave us a hard time. We were never kicked out of practice because we exercised our rights to choose if, how, and when to consume vaccine products.

But after writing a chapter on vaccines in one of my books, I grew increasingly concerned about whether something, or somethings were very wrong with my understanding of vaccines and how they were developed.”

Dr. Lyons-Weiler’s LinkedIn profile states that he is a long-time veteran in the areas of genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and evolutionary biology. “He earned a Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution & Conservation Biology, and won a US DOE/Sloan Postdoc in Computational Molecular Biology at Pennsylvania State University…”

Dr. Lyons-Weiler’s published a study, Reconsideration of the immunotherapeutic pediatric safe dose levels of aluminum, that says the recognized safe aluminum levels in vaccines are based on immune efficacy and ignore body weight. James says that several critical mistakes have been made in the consideration of pediatric dosing of aluminum and that safety inferences of vaccine doses of aluminum have relied solely on dietary (ingested, not injected) exposure studies of adult mice and rats.

On Day 1 of life, infants receive 17 times more aluminum than would be allowed if doses were adjusted per body weight.

The FDA states that 850 mcg of aluminum is safe for an adult. With his research, James found that a series of errors led to the guidelines that state 850 mcg of aluminum is safe for an adult.

The first serious problem (Problem #1) is that a provisionally tolerable weekly limit assumed to be safe was, by a series of errors and bad assumptions, transformed into a daily limit that appeared to be backed by studies. The studies used were not up to date, and the FDA’s determination used spurious estimates to transform safety information from dietary studies of adult mice into injected safe limits in human infants. These errors were made, in part, in the pediatric limit consideration by the FDA, who used outdated information not consistent with other organizations like World Health Organization.

To add to the confusion, the 1 mg/kg/week was also then changed to 2 mg/kg/week. The ATDSR used information from one study, assumed 1 mg/kg/week, adjusted using arbitrary functions that are without a doubt as good as a bad guess.

The provenance of these errors is reviewed further below, and in our newly published study.”

Vaccine Schedule – Why the FDA Ignored Mercury Issues For So Long

Regulatory agencies like the FDA and CDC agree with the classification on mercury as a neurotoxin. But it took until 1997 for the Food and Drug Administration, at the prompting of Congress, to finally tally up the total amount of mercury a six-month-old would be exposed to if the 1997 vaccine schedule was followed. The results of that calculation found that the average six-month-old had the potential to be injected with a total of 187.5 micrograms of mercury. In contrast, the FDA’s daily acceptable intake of mercury for an adult is 0.4 micrograms per kilogram of bodyweight. The FDA has known about the cumulative levels of mercury in childhood vaccines for over 20 years, and yet they still acknowledge that many childhood vaccines contain trace amounts (less than 1 microgram) of thimerosal, and certain inactivated influenza vaccines can contain up to 50 micrograms of thimerosal.

What You Do When You Realize Something Wrong

By any calculation, the level of mercury in childhood vaccines is too high. So why hasn’t it been removed from vaccines? New documents from FDA officials have discovered that the justification for the continued presence of thimerosal has less to do with safety and more to do with image. In an email from Dr. Peter Patriarca, Director, Division of Viral Products, Food and Drug to an official at the CDC, he discussed the impact of removing thimerosal from vaccines in a timely fashion, saying it would:

…raise questions about FDA being ‘asleep at the switch’ for decades by allowing a potentially hazardous compound to remain in many childhood vaccines, and not forcing manufacturers to exclude it from new products.

It will also raise questions about various advisory bodies regarding aggressive recommendations for use. We must keep in mind that the dose of ethylmercury was not generated by “rocket science.” Conversion of the percentage of thimerosal to actual micrograms of mercury involves ninth grade algebra. What took the FDA so long to do the calculations? Why didn’t the CDC and the advisory bodies do these calculations when they rapidly expanded the childhood immunization schedule?”

Equally as distressing as the FDA’s decision to hide culpability is what they’re sacrificing in pursuit of that decision. A press release in 1999 maintained that there wasn’t evidence that vaccines containing thimerosal caused any harm. It also maintained there was no reason to measure mercury exposure in children who received those vaccines, effectively ensuring that that evidence would not materialize anytime soon. In additional justification, public documents released by the FDA measured mercury exposure as if children were only exposed to a small amount of mercury each day through vaccines.

This is in stark contrast to the reality of the situation, where mercury exposure spikes at four specific times: at birth and at well baby (oh the irony!) check-ups at 2, 4, and 6 months. Since that release in 1999, the FDA has made an effort to lower the levels of thimerosal in childhood vaccines. Many still contain trace amounts, though, and the flu vaccine, recommended annually starting at 6 months, seems to be exempt from these reduction efforts thus far.

When Safeguards Are Not Safe

Vaccines are often sold as the best thing you can do for your baby. Yet the people who regulate these vaccines are not inclined to look at them critically. It took Congress requiring a list of intentionally introduced mercury compounds before the organization that regulates them took stock of exactly how much mercury children receive through childhood vaccines. The FDA then presented the data on a six-month average, instead of the four one-time spikes that actually occur and specifically said that testing mercury exposure is not necessary. Why are the vaccines considered necessary when safety checks and studies are not?

Trump Demurs When Asked About Vaccine Safety Commission Headed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has released a statement revealing president-elect Donald J. Trump has appointed him to chair a commission on vaccine safety and scientific integrity in his new administration. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the son of Robert Kennedy and an outspoken supporter of safe vaccines. While many health professionals have expressed dismay at the involvement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the creation of this commission would be in line with some of the vaccine and autism concerns Trump expressed during his campaign. The media has been quick to cry anti-vaxxer, but both men are on record as being pro-vaccination, including Trump at a primary debate in 2015. “Autism has become an epidemic,” he said. “… It has gotten totally out of control. I am totally in favor of vaccines. But I want smaller doses over a longer period of time.”

Will unbiased vaccine science finally be available now that the leader of the country is willing to have this kind of discussion in a public forum? There are two factors that could help change these attitudes.

The First Factor

Even if you don’t agree with Robert F. Kennedy Jr, he is still a Kennedy. This comes with name brand recognition, political connections, money, and a legacy of a public service. As a Democrat, he also brings the potential to promote bipartisan agendas. Many movements succeed when they find the right spokesperson. Kennedy could be that person.

The Second Factor

The second factor here is Trump. Taking a position that calls anything about vaccines into question has massive negative repercussions. Most politicians’ reputations don’t recover. (Hi, Jill Stein!). It’s also proven difficult to predict what exactly Trump will do next and which of his many outlandish campaign promises he will uphold. It’s clear he has strong feelings on the subject of vaccinations, but who knows how serious he is about acting on them. According to Hope Hicks, the presidential transition national spokesperson, “The president-elect is exploring the possibility of forming a commission on autism, which affects so many families; however, no decisions have been made at this time…”

What’s Going to Happen?

The appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to a commission studying vaccine safety would be a huge comfort to people and their loved ones who are struggling with the aftermaths of bad vaccine reactions, whether neurological conditions, paralysis, or developmental disorders. It remains unclear, however, if this commission (if it does indeed happen) will be able to make a difference in vaccine safety. The pharmaceutical industry and the science they have provided is firmly entrenched in the government, medical establishment, and mainstream media. Robert F. Kennedy will have a daunting task ahead of him if he is to adjust these views in any way.

Robert Kennedy Jr. Accepts Trumps Appointment to Chair Vaccine Committee

After meeting with president-elect Donald Trump, Robert Kennedy Jr. has agreed to chair a commission on “vaccination safety and scientific integrity.”

Kennedy, an environmental activist, an environmental attorney, an author, and a former U.S. senator, is an outspoken critic of vaccine safety and the government cover-up of the vaccine/autism connection. Trump, who has had personal knowledge of vaccine injured children, is following through with his pledge to move toward a safer vaccine schedule and administration. He claims to be an advocate of vaccination, but he wants to see smaller doses spread out over time. His tweets do not mention toxic contents.

Kennedy also says he is pro-vaccine. His goal is vaccine safety. He wants the American people to be assured that vaccines are as safe as possible. He was very outspoken about thimerasol in vaccines and may well have been instrumental in it being removed from most of our children’s vaccines.

Mainstream media continues to denounce the vaccine/autism connection as they make this announcement. There is, of course, no mention that the government has paid out 3 billion dollars for vaccine injuries (including autism) while protecting the pharmaceutical companies from litigation. Nor is there mention of the high infant mortality rate in the U.S. that is statistically linked to the ever growing vaccine schedule.

Hopefully, the commission will illuminate the work of the many doctors and scientists who have voiced concern about vaccine safety and efficacy.
