When our bottle of Coombs Family Farms Organic Grade B Maple Syrup arrived, we each dutifully stuck a finger in the bottle to taste it.

We all expected it to taste like every other maple syrup we’ve ever tried. It didn’t.
Think of the difference between a fine wine and its cheap cousin poured from a cardboard container. Using this example, Coombs Organic Maple Syrup would be the fine wine. Its flavor is deep, rich, complicated. It is also thicker than any other pure maple syrup we’ve ever tried. Naturally, we had to stop what we were doing and go to the store. We needed waffles.
Though we at OLM always advocate the need to limit sugar consumption, when it comes to this syrup, it is a case where one should do as we say, not as we did. For when this writer went to take one more taste of the syrup before writing this review, she discovered it was already gone! And so were all the frozen organic waffles. At least maple syrup is a source of nutrients; it is an excellent source of manganese and a good source of zinc.
Coombs Family Farm has been making maple syrup since 1840. Albert Coombs, the 7th generation owner, is a huge advocate of sustainable farming practices and organic farming.
