Time Magazine ran an article entitled Getting Real about the High Price of Cheap Food on August 21, 2009.
In the article, the author was bold enough to state the obvious: “And perhaps worst of all, our food is increasingly bad for us, even dangerous.”
Knowing the tyranny of our meat industries, we hope the author and Time Magazine are not sued for running this piece.
Animals confined into small spaces, pumped full of antibiotics, and fed an acidic grain-based diet become breeding grounds for all kinds of bacteria and viruses including E-coli and swine flu. Our desire for cheap meat is leading us down the dangerous road of poor health and environmental degradation. It’s refreshing to see such a large mainstream publication address these issues.
